Hoffmann's 1816 short story \"The Nutcracker and the Mouse King\" and Marius Petipa's and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's 1892 ballet The Nutcracker, about a young girl who is gifted a locked egg from her deceased mother and sets out in a magical land to retrieve the key. The film stars Keira Knightley, Mackenzie Foy, Eugenio Derbez, Matthew Macfadyen, Richard E. Grant, Misty Copeland, Helen Mirren, and Morgan Freeman.
The Sugar Plum Fairy explains that Marie created this world as a young girl and that she animated everyone with a machine that can turn toys into real people. Sugar Plum says this machine can be used to defend the three realms against Mother Ginger, but it needs a key matching the one for Clara's egg. Sneaking into the Fourth Realm, Clara and Philip steal back the key from Mother Ginger (ignoring her warning that Sugar Plum is lying to them), but Clara is disappointed to discover that the egg is only a music box.
Sugar Plum uses the machine to bring toy soldiers to life and orders them to attack the Fourth Realm. She then reveals that she lied about Mother Ginger, who had resisted Sugar Plum's plan to take over all four realms in revenge for her perceived abandonment by Marie, and that the machine can turn this world's people back into toys as well. She imprisons Clara, Captain Philip, and the male regents, causing Clara to blame herself.

JEB DUNNUCK 96+ POINTS - \"Another multi-vineyard blend in the lineup, the 2018 The Tempest is based on 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon brought up all in French oak. It has a Saint-Emilion-like bouquet of chocolate-covered black cherry and currant fruits interwoven with a beautiful, chalky sense of minerality. Damp earth, tobacco, and loads of floral notes all make an appearance, and this full-bodied beauty has wonderful purity of fruit, good acidity, and ripe, polished tannins. It's beautifully done and will evolve for 15+ years.\" ANTONIO GALLONI 96 POINTS - \"The 2018 Tempest, Realm's Merlot-based wine, is powerful, inky and quite savory, more so than in the past. The blend of vineyard sources in Calistoga, Oak Knoll and Coombsville works so well here. Inky dark fruit, graphite, bittersweet chocolate, leather, spice and espresso are beautifully delineated. Strong savory and mineral inflections suggest there is quite a bit of fruit from cooler sites in the southern end of the valley in this blend. A move towards more neutral oak barrels with thicker staves, less racking in aging and earlier bottling yields a Tempest that deftly balances richness and energy. The 2018 is a very serious wine and a terrific start to this tasting of new releases from Realm. In 2018, the blend is 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon.\"
soo... they have Christmas trees within the four realms, yet this Hawthorne guy has no idea of what Christmas isAnd why does this film feels more like a mashup of Alice in Wonderland and Narnia than The Nutcracker
The Norse World, also known as the Nine Realms to its inhabitants and the Northlands to foreigners,[1] is the world of the Norse Gods and other races that exist along the branches of the World Tree, weaving them together to form the Norse World. It includes the nine realms (Midgard, Alfheim, Asgard, Vanaheim, Niflheim, Muspelheim, Helheim, Svartalfheim, and Jotunheim), and the Realm Between Realms, the realm which serves as an \"in-between space\" between the nine.
There are nine realms that exist among the branches of the World Tree. The tree itself is said to exist beyond time and space and therefore has no beginning.[2] But in the beginning, there were no realms, only Ginnungagap, the great void. There was also Fire, and there was also Ice, and in the void they met,[3] creating what would become the Spark of the World.[4] Their meeting also produced something more than water, the mystical life-blood of something entirely new, and from this mystic water Ymir, the first Giant, took form, a being of pure creation and chaos, a force of nature, mother and father to all that came after. Every god, man and beast came first from Ymir's flesh.[3] Surtr came into existence after Ymir, coming from Muspelheim to bring heat to the young cosmos, conjuring the Sun from his primordial flame.[5]
